WILKES-BARRE (AP) – A man who pleaded guilty to third-degree murder for the death of a man beaten to death and robbed of his cell phone isn’t going to testify against another suspect.

The Citizens’ Voice of Wilkes-Barre reported Saturday that Mitchell Dedes invoked his right not to incriminate himself on Friday, saying he wouldn’t take the stand against Breon Judon.

Authorities said the men stole an iPhone from Aaron Reznick of Ebervale last year, put him in a car trunk then beat him when he tried to escape. Reznick was found unconscious on a Hazleton street and died more than a week later.

Dedes’ lawyer told the judge Friday the 18-year-old Dedes has “limited education.”

Judon also doesn’t plan to take the stand. Prosecutors rested their case Friday.
