TUNKHANNOCK (AP) – State police have released surveillance photos of a couple and their van in connection with some crossbows stolen from two Wal-Mart stores in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Troopers from the Tunkhannock barracks released the photos Monday because they’ve been unable to locate the couple suspected of stealing the weapons on Sept. 3.

Police say the couple stole $2,300 worth of crossbows from a Wal-Mart on Route 29 in Eaton Township, Wyoming County, and in Hazle Township, Luzerne County, that morning.

Police say the couple put the crossbows in totes, or in boxes of much cheaper merchandise – which they emptied to they could hide the crossbows inside.

They were seen driving away in a Chevrolet Astro conversion van with a ladder rack and stripes.
