Restrictions announced for homecoming parade

California Borough Police Department has announced the following parking restrictions for Saturday’s California University homecoming parade:

• No parking on Third Street from the university to Union Street

• No parking on Union Street from Third Street to Second Street

• No parking on Second Street from Union Street to the university

The restrictions will be in place beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 1 p.m. After 9 a.m., vehicles parked along the parade route will be tagged and towed at the owner’s expense.

Also this year, the university wishes to divert all traffic to the lower lot and the parking garage, as early as 8 a.m. There will be no traffic permitted on Third Street leading to the university.

Parade participants are asked to go to the lower lot for staging. The parking garage will be available for spectators.
