DUNBAR, Pa. (AP) — Two members of a country fair board in western Pennsylvania are questioning a plan to put a new county prison on fairground property.

Fayette County Fair Board members wonder how a prison would impact the popular fair and other events taking place on the property.

The fair board members questioned why the fairgrounds were chosen when other possible sites are nearby.

Fayette County Commissioner Al Ambrosini says the property was the best suited because of its central location and that there was no cost for its acquisition. He also says the county can work with the fair board on parking and other issues.

The county is scheduled to vote on the plan next week.
