WAYNESBURG – A global oil and natural gas equipment service corporation expects to begin operations at a new building at the EverGreene Technology Park in Franklin Township this time next year.

FMC Technologies Inc., based in Houston, Texas, leases, services, manufactures and sells equipment to the oil and natural gas drilling industry, said Patrick Kimball, company spokesman.

The company hopes to move into the new building by the third quarter of next year, he said. FMC is relocating its Homer City operations to EverGreene, Kimball said.

The operation will initially employ about 20 people, who will transfer from the Homer City plant. That number could increase in the next few years depending on the market, he said.

The building will contain a 9,000-square -oot shop and a 2,000-square-foot office and administration suite. It will be constructed by Red Cedars Partners LLC of Chicago, Ill. on a 15-acre parcel in the business park and leased to FMC.

Red Cedars is currently negotiating the purchase of the property with the park owner, Greene County Industrial Developments Inc.

Plans for the building were approved last month by the Franklin Township supervisors. The plans were approved with several conditions.

They included approval of a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, a soil and sedimentation control plan and a sewage planning module. The developer also must obtain a lot split, provide building plans to the township and ensure signs and the sanitary sewer connection conform to township regulations.
