Chartiers Township volunteer firefighters were called Saturday afternoon when an electrical box caught fire inside the home of John Betonte, 439 Cherry Ave.

Fire Chief Vince Altieri said the fire was out when firefighters arrived but there was smoke throughout the residence. West Penn Power crews disconnected the power to the house. Also assisting at the scene was a Canonsburg Ambulance crew.
