Dems to hold banquet

The Washington County Democratic Committee will hold its annual fall banquet Sunday at the Pepsi Cola Roadhouse, Route 18, Burgettstown. The committee will honor retired Washington County Judge John F. Bell and veterans of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. There will be music by the SNPJ Buttonbox Band beginning at 1 p.m. First Assistant District Attorney Mike Lucas will introduce Bell, and state Rep. Brandon Neuman, D-North Strabane Township, will give a tribute to Korean and Vietnam veterans. The main speaker will be Edward D. Yankovich, United Mine Workers of America District 2 vice president.

Tickets are $25, but Democratic Committee Chairman George Vitteck said that all veterans and their spouses can receive complimentary tickets to the event. To reserve a ticket call Vitteck at 724-222-7127 or banquet Chairman Ron Sicchitano at 724-945-6193.
