Washington & Jefferson College police Wednesday charged a student with dealing cocaine, marijuana and Ecstasy from his campus apartment, stemming from a drug investigation last month.

Police charged James R. Ogrady, 21, of Mechanicsburg, in a summons with three counts of possession of drugs with intent to deliver and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.

Police said they went to Ogrady’s apartment in one of the school’s new residence halls about 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3 and were given permission from him to search his room, the affidavit indicates.

Seized from the room were more than 27 grams of Ecstasy, 14.7 grams of cocaine, four bags containing large amounts of marijuana and three glass jars containing marijuana residue, police stated in the affidavit.

Police indicated they also found in the room a .40-caliber handgun in a safe, a large amount of ammunition, 1,000 empty pill capsules and $744.

Ogrady is free, and his arraignment had yet to be scheduled Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

W&J spokesman Robert Reid declined to comment on the case, citing student privacy rights.
