City police arrest two on drug charges
A Washington man is in Washington County jail on $250,000 bond and his acquaintance also was arrested after Washington police found the city man with a stolen gun along with suspected heroin and marijuana.
Brian Alan Still Jr., 27, of 43 North Ave., is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana, receiving stolen property, persons not to possess a firearm and possessing a firearm without a license. Dustin Hicks, 28, of Walton, Ky., who was in Still’s vehicle, is charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
City police Sgt. Carl Martin was on patrol in Lincoln Terrace about 8 p.m. Wednesday when he saw a man, later identified as Hicks, sitting on the passenger seat of a car with his legs outside the vehicle with a marijuana blunt.
When Hicks saw the officer, he climbed back into the car. Martin approached the vehicle and could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The blunt was on the floor of the car next to the passenger’s feet. The sergeant could also see a blunt in the ashtray that had already been smoked.
Still reportedly got out of the car and started yelling at Martin, who ordered him to stand at the back of his car until backup arrived.
Inside the car, police could see a zipped plastic bag of suspected marijuana. Martin could also see the end of a black, nylon holster sticking out from under the driver’s seat. Inside the holster was a Ruger .40-caliber pistol that had been reported stolen June 23 to Washington police by Frank Molisee of Washington.
Police found 45 stamp bags of suspected heroin hidden between two layers of Still’s pants.
The heroin field-tested positive. They also found $2,615 and two cellphones.
Both men were arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson, who set the $250,000 bond on Still and $5,000 bond on Hicks.
