A free community dinner scheduled today at the Throckmorton United Methodist Church has been canceled.

A new youth wrestling association, Tri-County Takedown Wrestling Group, will hold signups for wrestlers ages 4 through 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Cross Point Church in Carmichaels, next to the VFW Post. Signups will also take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26. Registration is $25 for the first child in a family and $15 for each additional child. Clarksville Christian Church, 330 Market Street, Clarksville, will hold its semi-annual cream chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25. The menu will include cream chicken over homemade biscuits, green beans, cole slaw or applesauce, choice of dessert and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 4. Call early for takeout at 724-377-1406. Local delivery is available.

First Christian Church of Waynesburg will host its Great Giveaway from 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 2. This is a churchwide garage sale, except nothing is for sale. It’s all free. Everything that is donated will begiven away. Anyone who would like to donate some items, drop them off at the church on the corner of Morris and Franklin streets.
