One of 11 suspected heroin, methamphetamine and Molly dealers in Southwestern Pennsylvania was arrested Thursday by the FBI while staying at a quiet North Strabane Township residence where investigators became alarmed after discovering a hand grenade.
North Strabane police said they assisted in the 1:30 p.m. apprehension of Christopher Greene, 30, of Leetsdale, at 115 S. Spring Valley Road.
Greene was the last of the suspects to be detained Thursday, said a spokeswoman for the office of U.S. Attorney David Hickton.
One of the men indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., while most of the others reside in the Cooraopolis area. The indictments were unsealed Thursday.
Greene was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to deliver 100 grams or more of heroin, Molly and methamphetamine.
North Strabane police said the Allegheny County Bomb Squad was summoned to 115 S. Spring Valley Road to dispose of the hand grenade.
The indictment accused the defendants of conspiring to deal the drugs between January and October. The law provides for a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
Greene waived his right to a detention hearing and pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon before Magistrate Judge Robert C. Mitchell, court records show. He remained in federal detention.
