Schedule of events

• Oct. 30: Town hall environmental conference featuring history and environmental experts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Donora Municipal Building, 603 Meldon Ave. Contact donorahistoricalsociety@gmail.com to register; open house at Donora Smog Museum, 595 McKean Ave., from 2 to 5 p.m.; and a screening at the museum of “Rumor of Blue Sky,” a documentary by Andrew Maietta and Janet Whitney, both of whom will attend and answer questions about the film.

• Oct. 31: Halloween commemorative parade at 6 p.m., with lineup forming an hour earlier at Third Street and Meldon Avenue. Prizes to be awarded for best costumes, including environmental group and individual divisions.

• Nov. 2: 5K walk/run and 10K skate at Donora Industrial Park. Late registrations will be accepted at Valley Skating Center, 590 Galiffa Drive, up to 10 minutes before the races begin at 9 and 10 a.m. A buffet dinner and floor show featuring the Latshaw Pops Orchestra from the Palace Theater, Greensburg, will begin at 5 p.m. in the municipal building. The entertainment begins at 8 p.m. following dinner.

• Nov. 3: Ecumenical memorial service, 2 p.m., Calvary United Presbyterian Church, 800 Thompson Ave.
