Nuclear energy lecture set

Washington & Jefferson College’s Energy Lecture Series continues with “Should We Rethink Nuclear?” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Howard J. Burnett Center’s Yost Auditorium.
Presented by W&J’s Center for Energy Policy and Management and the Three Rivers Chapter of the U.S. Association of Energy Economists, the event includes the showing of “Pandora’s Promise,” a new documentary film by Director Robert Stone, which explores the question, “How can you be an environmentalist and not be in favor of nuclear energy?”
The film examines the history and future of nuclear power and reveals that many of those who fiercely opposed the development and use of nuclear power are now embracing it. What has prompted that dramatic change?
Joel Cannon, W&J professor of physics, and Ingmar Sterzing, director of commercial operations, Westinghouse Electric Co., will lead a post-film discussion.
