BOYERS, Pa. (AP) — State police say they’ve found an 84-year-old western Pennsylvania man who was reported missing because he has dementia and didn’t return from a walk.

Troopers from the Butler barracks say Raymond Mathews was found Wednesday morning.

Mathews is from Harrisville in northern Butler County, about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. He was last seen walking in nearby Marion Township about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday. Searchers couldn’t find him later that day, and resumed looking for him about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police didn’t immediately say how or where Mathews was found, only that more information will be released later in the day.

Mathews was a wide receiver for the Steelers for nine seasons from 1951 to 1959 after playing at Clemson University.
