Man charged in sexual assault

A Washington man was arrested Wednesday by city police for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl several times at different homes.
Christopher Lopez, 35, of 315 E. Hallam Ave., was charged by Detective Dan Rush with attempted aggravated indecent assault, attempted rape, indecent assault, indecent exposure and corruption for allegedly having inappropriate contact with the girl who is now 10.
Rush was contacted about the alleged incidents, which reportedly began in 2010, by a Washington County Children and Youth Services caseworker. Lopez is accused of inappropriately touching the girl and exposing himself to her.
He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 percentage bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 6.
