PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police and the FBI are investigating an armored car robbery in northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday outside a Wells Fargo Bank in the city’s Holmesburg neighborhood.

An FBI spokeswoman said two men wearing Halloween masks similar to the one from the movie “Scream” and carrying semi-automatic weapons approached the truck as a guard was unloading money, knocking him to the ground and making off with about $310,000 in cash.

Investigators said the two masked men then jumped into a green minivan driven by a third man and took off. The van was found not far from the robbery scene and authorities think the men got into another vehicle and fled.

Authorities said the van was reported stolen from Upper Darby in August.

No injuries were reported.
