PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police say one man has been arrested and another is being sought in the stabbing of a cab driver in Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman said the 37-year-old driver pulled his taxi over to let two men out shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday south of the center of the city.

He said one man stood next to the driver’s window and appeared to be getting money out of his wallet but then both began stabbing the driver repeatedly and took about $200.

The cab driver flagged down police and was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was treated for 11 stab wounds to his head, arm, chest, hand and neck.

But the police spokeswoman said all of the wounds were superficial and the victim was listed in stable condition.
