BLOOMFIELD (AP) – Authorities said an off-duty Pittsburgh officer is being investigated in the fatal shooting of a 56-year-old man during a bar fight.

The Tribune-Review said the officer is not being identified in the 2:30 a.m. shooting Sunday in Bloomfield.

The officer has been on medical leave since 2010.

The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office said a witness reported that he was fighting with Shawn Evans of Bloomfield before Evans was shot and killed at Condrins Tavern.

Spokeswoman Diane Richard said the officer is not being charged pending a review.
