PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police in Philadelphia have identified the father and son who drowned in a creek in Fairmount Park.

They said 13-year-old Jordan Luciano was swimming Friday in Wissahickon Creek when he started having trouble in the water.

Authorities said his father, 41-year-old Pete Luciano, tried to help him, but both soon disappeared under the water.

Police said they were unresponsive when they were pulled from the water and later pronounced dead.

The drownings occurred as siblings looked on at a spot known as Devil’s Pool, near the Valley Green Inn in Fairmount Park.
