A Prosperity man was arrested after he allegedly led state police on a chase early Saturday while riding his motorcycle on Interstates 70 and 79, as well as local roads.
Police said Timothy Gray, 34, of 1231 Washington Road, was spotted driving his motorcycle east on Jefferson Avenue in Washington at a high speed about 2:40 a.m. Gray turned onto the ramp leading to I-70 eastbound and then to I-79 northbound.
Troopers said they clocked his speed at 100 mph.
Gray was stopped by police at the ramp from I-79 at Locust Avenue in Meadow Lands. After he was told to shut off the motorcycle by police, Gray reportedly went through a red light and onto Locust. He then went east on Pike Street to Country Club Road in Chartiers Township, where he reportedly made an illegal U-turn.
After two more U-turns, Gray reportedly drove through a yard on Country Club while attempting another U-turn. He continued out Country Club, using both lanes, police said. When he tried another U-turn at McClane Farm Road, police were able to block him. One of the troopers pulled him off the motorcycle to prevent him from fleeing again.
Police said Gray refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test.
Gray was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing or eluding police, resisting arrest, speeding, riding a motorcycle without proper equipment and several other traffic violations. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
