WAYNESBURG – A Washington County couple pleaded guilty before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman Thursday to selling drugs to an undercover agent in Morris Township in 2011.
Jason Lee Hartzell, 34, and Tiffany Danielle Hodgson, 24, both of 3035 Wilson Ave., Washington, were arrested after selling hydrocodone on two occasions to an undercover agent.
Police said Hartzell drove Hodgson to Sam’s Washtub Laundromat in Nineveh on two separate occasions to sell the drugs. On June 21, 2011, they sold 30 hydrocodone pills to the agent. The same transaction took place on July 12, 2011.
They were both charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
Hartzell received a sentence of five years in the Greene County Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 90 days under house arrest and GPS monitoring. During that time, Hartzell will be permitted to continue working. He also received 300 hours of community service and $1,000 in fines plus court costs and fees.
Hodgson was sentenced to three years of probation, 250 hours of community service, and $750 in fines plus court costs and fees.
Toothman also ordered the pair to pay restitution of $390 to the state attorney general’s office.
The jurisdiction of their sentences may be transferred to Washington County.
