Area men jailed in alleged assault
Two Waynesburg men are under arrest in West Virginia after one of them allegedly attempted to have sex with a 14-year old girl.
Ryan Lee Roberts, 22, of 303 4th Street, is charged with third-degree sexual assault. According to police, Roberts was driven from Waynesburg to Taylor County to meet the girl by Kurt Miles Ringer, 22, of 145 Wayne Village, Waynesburg.
Taylor County Sheriff’s deputies said they were called to a residence for a domestic dispute Sept. 15 and when they arrived they were told Roberts tried to have sex with the girl and she refused.
Ringer is charged with obstructing and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Both are being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Roberts is held on $15,000 bail and Ringer on $5,000 bail.
