NEW CASTLE (AP) – A 37-year-old man has been jailed on charges he punched and choked a woman because he believed she had hidden his false teeth.

Ian Greene, of New Castle, faces a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges of simple assault and harassment. Online court records show Greene has been jailed since police filed the charges Sept. 13, and don’t list a defense attorney for him.

The woman showed police a bump over her right eye where she claims Greene punched her, and also claimed he choked her. The woman tells police the whole thing started after Greene accused her of hiding his false teeth.
