A free community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the social hall of the Rogersville United Methodist Church. The meal will include ham, parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce, rolls and dessert. Carryout is available, donations are accepted and everyone is welcome. A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Carryout is available. The event is sponsored by the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department and its auxiliary. For more information, call 724-499-5385.
A rummage sale and luncheon will be held Oct. 3 and 4 at the Washington Street United Methodist Church, Waynesburg. The rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. both days. Lunch takeouts are available by calling 724-627-3240.
Morris Township supervisors will hold a cleanup day for township residents from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5. Items such as large appliances, sofas, mattresses and scrap metal will be accepted. Garbage and tires will not be accepted. Items may be dropped off at the township building. For more information, call 724-627-9844.
Greene County Council on the Arts is sponsoring a bus trip Oct. 20 to a Pittsburgh Pops Concert, “Broadway and Beyond with Brian Stokes Mitchell.” Among the selections performed will be music from “Ragtime,” “Kiss Me Kate” and “Man of La Mancha.” The All-Star College Chorus will be featured, including students from Waynesburg University. In addition to the concert ticket and bus transportation to the show, the price includes a catered dinner served in the Overlook Room at Heinz Hall prior to the return trip to Waynesburg.
