WAYNESBURG – Franklin Township supervisors granted conditional approval Monday to plans for the construction of a new office and warehouse building at EverGreene Technology Park.
The building will be constructed by Red Cedars Partners LLC of Chicago, Ill. on a 15-acre parcel in the business park.
The building will contain 2,800 square feet of office space and 10,000 square feet of warehouse space and be leased to FMC Technologies Inc., a global oil and natural gas equipment service corporation.
A spokesman for FMC could not be reached Monday for comment. A Red Cedars Partners spokesman said information regarding the project would be released later.
Red Cedars Partners is currently negotiating the purchase of the property at EverGreene with the park owner. Greene County Industrial Developments Inc. GCID executive director Don Chappel declined comment Monday, saying negotiations with the company have not yet been concluded.
Plans for the building were approved by the township planning commission, which recommended several conditions.
They included approval of a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, a soil and sedimentation control plan and a sewage planning module. The developer also must obtain a lot split, provide building plans to the township and ensure signs and the sanitary sewer connection conform to township regulations.
In other business, the supervisors opened bids for paving Rush Lane, Cook Avenue and a new section of Orchard Road being constructed by the township to eliminate a hairpin turn.
The supervisors awarded the contract to the A.C. Moyer Co., which submitted a low bid of $122,325.
The supervisors also approved a resolution indicating the township will spend its 2013 allotment of Community Development Block Grant money to extend a water line on North Liberty Street Extension. The township will receive $105,607 in CDBG money for 2013.
