Farmers market vouchers available

Eligible individuals who have not yet received the Pennsylvania Farmers Market Nutrition vouchers will be given one more opportunity to take advantage of a special distribution at the Southwestern PA Area Agency on Aging Washington County office at 150 W. Beau St., Suite 216, Washington, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday.

FMNP vouchers, redeemable for produce at participating farmers markets, remain available for people who reside in Washington, Fayette and Greene counties.

To be eligible for the FMNP vouchers, valued at $20, a person must be 60 years of age or older during the program year and must meet gross income eligibility. Income for a single person must be at or below $21,257; a two-person household income may be $28,694; or a three-person household income may be $36,131. Income includes interest, Social Security, wages, Black Lung and other sources. It is not necessary to provide proof of income.
