Area home damaged by blaze

A fire caused heavy damage to the front end of a Washington home early Saturday morning. The Washington Fire Department was dispatched to 241 Burton Ave. at about 4 a.m. and spent more than three hours fighting off the flames.
No one was home at the time, and the state fire marshal is investigating the cause. The home also suffered heat and smoke damage.
Firefighters from Peters Township, North Strabane and the Rapid Intervention Team assisted at the scene.
