WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman. They included the following:

James Bruce Mitzen, 28, of 3060 Mt. Morris Road, Waynesburg; offenses – accidents involving injury and DUI; on April 22, Mitzen’s vehicle crashed into another vehicle on Miller Lane in Franklin Township; two people suffered minor injuries; Mitzen failed to stop and drove home; he then returned to the scene and turned himself in; his BAC was .148 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail; $700 fine; 150 hours of community service.

Jacob Caleb Miller, 30, of Waynesburg; offenses – five counts of possession of a controlled substance. Three counts each of possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility were withdrawn; on three occasions in December 2007 and January 2008, Miller sold cocaine to undercover officers; sentence – 5 years of probation; $1,500 in fines.
