A charge of retail theft was withdrawn Friday against an Avella man and then filed against another man after North Frnaklin police learned Thursday that they were given incorrect information about an alleged theft.

The charge against Earl O. Gorby, 45, of 238 Meadowcroft Road, Avella, was withdrawn. Police then charged Joseph Earl Gorby, 26, of 619 Best Ave., Washington, with retail theft for allegedly stealing an item March 29 from Rite Aid, West Chestnut Street.
