Area men to stand trial for alleged rape

Two men were ordered Wednesday to stand trial on sexual assault charges filed by Washington police stemming from separate cases.

Patrick Michael Clark, 21, of 375 Locust Ave., Washington, was ordered held for court by District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure and inappropriate communication with a minor.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Peters Township girl. Clark remains in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

James T. Montgomery, 37, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, was ordered held for court by Ward on charges of aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent exposure. He is accused of sexually assaulting a girl from 2002 to 2004 at a home on Arch Street. The alleged victim was 5 years old when the assaults reportedly began.

Ward reduced Montgomery’s bond from $100,000 to a percentage bond. He was released from jail Thursday after posting $10,000.
