State offers brownfields seminar

The state Department of Environmental Protection will hold a seminar, “What all Local Governments Need to Know About Brownfields,” on May 14 in Pittsburgh.

The seminar is free for municipal and community leaders, community planners, redevelopment authorities and others. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the DEP Southwest Regional Office, 400 Waterfront Drive, Pittsburgh. Lunch will be provided.

The seminar will focus on how breathe life into abandoned and vacant properties, and will cover the basics of brownfields and funding sources.
