Trinity Area School Board Thursday tabled proposed bus contracts with GG&C and Schweinebraten bus companies.

Board president Jennifer Morgan said the directors hoped to approve the contract during the meeting, but Trinity’s special counsel, Andrews and Price LLC, appointed last year by the school district’s insurance carrier to handle litigation involving Trinity and the two bus companies, failed to complete a release agreement regarding the lawsuit that Schweinebraten and GG&C had filed against the district.

The board will hold a special meeting to vote on the bus contract.

Morgan apologized for the delay.

In other business, the board:

• Approved an agreement with Pittsburgh Technical Institute for Trinity students to participate in PTI’s oil and gas introductory program. The course, worth 4 credits that can be transferred to PTI, will be taught on the Trinity campus by PTI faculty members and will introduce students to the oil and gas field.

• Approved girls lacrosse as a school-sponsored sport. The team will compete in the WPIAL starting in the 2014-15 school year.
