• Action: The commissioners renewed software licenses from Dominion Voting through May 31, 2015. The total price of $26,910 represents no increase from the previous year.
The board learned the state reduced the Restrictive Treatment Program grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency by $14,783, to $233,049. Restrictive treatment, which is for those who have been charged with drug and alcohol offenses, is run by the Adult Probation Office.
At the request of the Human Resources Department, the commissioners approved travel costs for Barbie Castrucci to attend the Workers’ Compensation Conference in Hershey June 2 and 3 at an estimated cost of $650.
At the request of the purchasing department, the board OK’d an agreement with RMC Sanitation of Burgettstown to provide toilets for the parks department and polling places through April 19, 2015, at a contracted amount not to exceed $10,000.
At the request of the jail administration, the commissioners approved a training course entitled “Thinking for a Change,” to be presented May 6 to 9 by Juliana M. Tayman at a cost of $5,098. A Criminal Justice Advisory Board training grant will reimburse the county $1,500.
At the request of probation services, the commissioners approved $2,062 for the annual peer jury recognition luncheon at Washington Park May 6.
At the request of the parks department, the board OK’d leases for harvesting hay at the Cross Creek park at a payment of $20 per acre through April 16, 2015. Peter W. Monticello III will cut 15 acres, and Curtis Hamilton will cut 88 acres.

• Action: The board gave six sports or activity booster groups that have not complied with the request two years ago to submit bylaws a deadline of May 30 to provide the requested revisions or face losing the privilege of using district property. Such a loss would prohibit the groups from using concession stand sales to fund the group.
The board awarded a bid to Wolfington for three, 72-passenger buses at a cost of $197,820 including the trade-in allowance of $46,650.
A contact was awarded to Sugarwood Landscaping for lawn care services at a cost of $37,473. The contract will run from April 22 to Oct. 31.
The board purchased 15 bus cameras from SEON Mobile Surveillances for a total cost of $16,675. The cameras will replace other cameras out for repair, and to equip new buses.
• Discussion: The board will hold a retreat from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the administrative offices to discuss future projects expected in the next four to five years. Each building will be looked at individually. The retreat is open to the public.
A finance committee meeting scheduled for April 28 is being moved to 6:30 p.m. May 15. The board must adopt a final budget by June 30.
