UNIONTOWN (AP) – A second sister charged in a Southwestern Pennsylvania purse-snatching that broke the hip of an 82-year-old woman who died months later has pleaded guilty as part of an agreement with prosecutors.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jenna Boyd pleaded guilty Monday in Fayette County Court to child endangerment and unsworn falsification to police. Prosecutors dropped charges of theft and conspiracy and agreed to recommend a one- to five-year prison sentence.

Twenty-five-year-old Brittany Boyd earlier pleaded guilty to robbery and aggravated assault and was sentenced to nine to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Brittany Boyd took Mary Yourchik’s purse from her shopping cart outside a Wal-Mart and fled, and the victim fell after chasing her to her car. Yourchik’s children said she suffered a stroke less than three months later and died in November.
