• Action: During the public comment portion of the meeting, residents Ed Badia and David Bradwell questioned supervisors about the township’s health savings account for employees. Badia said he does not approve of the township’s use of HSA insurance plans and wants the township to consider Flexible Spending Accounts.
Badia and Bradwell criticized the township for being unwilling to consider changes. Chairman Andy Schrader said he believes the current insurance plan is fine.
James Passieu, a township employee, said the HSA plan benefited him personally.
Also during the meeting, supervisors discussed a proposed construction project for a section of Angerer Road that would cost $176,631 for paving and drainage repairs and $12,950 for tree removal. Some residents argued Coleman Road, which is traveled by school buses, is more in need of repairs. A motion to approve the Angerer Road project died with a 2-2 vote. Supervisors Tom Casciola and Elizabeth Cowden voted against the motion, and Schrader and Frank Ludwin voted for the motion. Cindy Fisher was absent.
Schrader also announced the township plans to hold a public meeting next week to discuss the Worstell impoundment. A date has not been confirmed.
