WAYNESBURG – Greene County commissioners Thursday approved the allocation of its 2013 Act 13 natural gas drilling impact fee revenue of $3,627,570, money the county received in July.

This third-year amount represents approximately $700,000 more than last year’s allocation of $2,906.300.

The county plans to spend $500,000 on Murtha Drive, $1.5 million on a new access road, an intersection upgrade and utilities at the county airport, $350,000 on the Mon View pool, $100,000 for a building and storm water issues at the county fairgrounds, $50,000 to paint hangars at the airport, $350,000 for roofs and maintenance at the fairgrounds, $245,350 for bridges and bridge maintenance, $75,000 for a roof on the Ben Franklin building, $120,000 in second floor upgrades at the county courthouse, $10,000 for upgrades at district justice offices.

Also, $19,166 to the East Dunkard Water Authority and to the Brave Water and Sewer Authority, $185,000 for security at all county buildings, $70,000 for pictometry and municipal connect, $35,000 for county network upgrades and $100,000 for scanning of clerk of court documents and planning commission files.

Of the $3.627 million the county received, $3.190 million is earmarked for infrastructure; $19,166 for water systems, $185,000 for emergency services, $19,254 for recreation, $205,000 for technology and $8,800 for law and order categories.

In three years, the county has received $9,664,480 in impact fee revenue.

The commissioner also accepted a proposal from Ford Business Machines Inc., for scanning and indexing services for the Greene County Orphans Court – Birth and Death – Marriage Records Conversion Project in the amount of $52,009.
