Salary board acts on several matters

WAYNESBURG – The resignation of Joseph French, chief deputy sheriff, was accepted Thursday by the Greene County Salary Board, which then promoted Thomas Nichols to the position at a salary of $31,621 a year. The board also promoted Joshua Sifuentes to a regular full-time deputy at $13.92 an hour.

In other business, the salary board:

• Hired Rachel Gillispie as a department clerk in the elections office at a rate of $11.87 an hour.

• Hired Sara Braddock as a CYS caseworker at $18.16 an hour and promoted Melanie Trauth from temporary to regular full-time county caseworker III in the mental health program, at $23.95 an hour.

• Promoted Kimberly Spence to first deputy in the register and recorders office at $33,122 a year, and acknowledged the retirement of Mara Lesko as a court reporter.

• Accepted the resignations of Rob Strope and Timothy Young as part-time corrections officers at the county jail, and hired Kamau Wilson as a regular part-time corrections officer at $14.02 an hour.
