Washington Rides paratransit will pay for the cost of transporting current passengers to a meeting at the Tri-County Patriots for Independent Living office, 69 East Beau St., Washington, to discuss transportation issues from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 25, according to Sheila Gombita, executive director of the Washington County Transportation Authority.

Trips to the Aug. 25 meeting will have to be booked before 1 p.m. Friday.

The reliability of the paratransit service was called into question last week when a city resident who uses a manually operated wheelchair had to wait three hours for a three-block trip.
