Four criminal defendants were entered into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program Monday by Greene County Judge Farley Toothman.
Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year probation and pay all fines and costs. Defendants charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended and are required to refrain from the use or possession of alcohol.
Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their criminal records expunged.
Admitted were:
James Travis Yoney, 19, of 333 Grant St., Nemacolin, charged with theft, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence. Police said Yoney stole two bicycles in Nemacolin and dismantled them between July 15 and 31, 2013. He used some parts of the bikes and threw other parts away.
Susan Marie John, 60, of 933 S. Eighty-Eight Road, Carmichaels, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a summary traffic violation. Arrested Oct. 20, John had a blood-alcohol level of .142 percent. Her license was suspended for 30 days.
Samuel Brooks Pearce, 60, of 1705 Pecan St., Bastrop, Texas, charged with DUI and four summary traffic violations. Arrested Oct. 7 after a traffic stop in Waynesburg, Pearce refused a blood-alcohol test. His license was suspended for 60 days.
Nery Omar Olivia, 51, of 78 Cumberland Village, Carmichaels, charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allowing his 6-year-old stepson outside without supervision. Another resident of Cumberland Village called police when she found the boy in her home and did not know who the child was or where he was from. Olivia was entered into the program for two years.
