SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — All rides at Cedar Point opened as scheduled Monday after a power outage the night before stranded some visitors on rides.

Park spokesman Bryan Edwards said in an email that a “small portion” of the park experienced a power outage on Sunday night. He said all guests stranded on rides at the time were escorted off safely.

Edwards on Monday declined to answer further questions about the incident.

Chris Eck, a spokesman for the power company, FirstEnergy, said the outage just before 8 p.m. was caused by a fault in a cable. It was restored at 1:25 a.m. He said he didn’t know how much of the park was affected.

Last month, two park visitors were injured when a cable attached to the Skyhawk ride snapped.
