Coal Show continues, winners announced
CARMICHAELS – The King Coal Show continues at 6 p.m. today with exhibits and food inside the Carmichaels fire hall. At 7 p.m., representatives of the Coal and Heritage Center at Penn State Fayette will give a coal informational presentation, followed at 8:15 p.m. by a showing of “The Bituminous Coal Queens of Pennsylvania.” There is no charge for these events.
Live music will be featured on the fire hall grounds from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring local band Hit and Run.
The winners of the King Coal Baby Contest will be announced at 8 p.m.
The 48th Annual Children’s Pet Parade was held Wedneday. Winners were:
• First place for cutest kitten: Lydia Reynolds, 7, of Crucible;
• Second place for cutest kitten: Cara Jones, 4, of Carmichaels;
• First place for prettiest cat: Kori Larose, 7, of Masontown;
• First place for cutest puppy: Chad Trainor, 11, of Carmichaels;
• Second place for cutest puppy: Baylee Wydo, 16, of Carmichaels;
• Third place for cutest puppy: Skylar Nopwasky, 7, of Jefferson;
• First place for best groomed dog: Brandon, Tyler and Jennifer Mikalik of Carmichaels;
• Second place for best groomed dog: Gage Kundley, 5, of Crucible;
• Third place for best groomed dog: the Mori family of Carmichaels;
• First place for prettiest dog: Brandon, 8, and Nathan Bennett, 10, of Carmichaels
• Second place for prettiest dog: Amber Perry, 6, of Smithfield;
• Third place for prettiest dog: Abby Ruffini, 7, of New Kensington;
• First place for largest dog: Ayden Pratt, 11, of Jefferson;
• First place for smallest pet: Shane McNamara age, 7, of Carmichaels;
• First place for oddest pet: Kennedy Jones, of Carmichaels;
• Second place for oddest pet: Grace Maskil, 5, of Rices Landing;
• Third place for oddest pet: Alayna Pratt, 2, of Carmichaels.
