A long-awaited, $7.7 million project will get under way after Labor Day weekend to improve a section of Interstate 70 from the Taylorstown exit in Buffalo Township to the West Chestnut Street exit in North Franklin Township.

Work will occur over two construction seasons, address approximately eight miles of roadway and will include bituminous patching, milling, resurfacing, bridge repair, work on inlets, signing, guide rail and other construction. The contractor is Lane Construction Corp.

Nighttime restrictions will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings. There will be no work on Friday or Saturday nights. Drivers will need to be alert for changing traffic patterns along the highway as work takes place.
