PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police said a half-naked Philadelphia man who attacked a driver while proclaiming to be the messiah won’t be charged with a crime.

Authorities said the 57-year-old man was unconscious when they found him on a street at about 4 a.m. Sunday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Police first thought the man had been thrown from a vehicle, but he told them that he suffered from depression and became delusional after mixing a new medication with alcohol.

The man told police he ran into the street naked from the waist down, banged on vehicles, and punched a 24-year-old man who was inside a car. Police were able to locate that car and interview the occupants.

The naked man was treated for a busted lip at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
