WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg University will hold a guest art exhibition featuring the work of Brian and Laura Plank Sept. 8 through Oct. 3 in the Benedum Fine Arts Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 8. Admission is free and the public is invited.

The Planks are married artists who create art side-by-side, yet they have very different approaches to the making of art images. This exhibit will give the Waynesburg community an opportunity to see how two different viewpoints of art come together.

Brian creates art that is “for anyone to enjoy and that is accessible to all.” He injects humor and whimsy into his pieces, while Laura’s love for medieval manuscripts, flat textile pattern and bold outline portrays a different perspective. She uses hand-painted lino-cuts, as well as acrylic, ink and gold leaf to explore Biblical scripture and the world surrounding us.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
