An 18-year-old Washington High School student will be charged by city police with bringing a knife to school Tuesday.

The male student entered the high school with a multi-purpose tool containing two knives about 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. He then got on a bus to attend classes at Western Area Career and Technology Center in Canonsburg, where instructor Chuck White discovered the knife.

White turned the knife over to Principal Mary DeProspero-Adams, who gave it to the school’s resource officer.

Washington School District Superintendent Roberta DiLorenzo could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.
