Three people considered fugitives in unrelated cases, including a woman from Mt. Morris, were arrested Sunday by Customs officials in Philadelphia upon their arrival on a flight from Cancun, Mexico.
Robbi Lynn Wright, 46, of 113 Renner Run Road, failed to appear for a hearing on retail theft charges filed June 13.
According to a state police affidavit, Wright came to the checkout counter at Label Shopper, 120 Greene Plaza, to purchase clothing June 10.
The store manager told police she observed some of the store’s merchandise stuffed into Wright’s purse, and when she asked Wright about the items, Wright pulled out two pair of shorts valued at $30.98.
Police said Wright presented a credit card to purchase other items and showed the name of Robbi L. Wright.
Also, the store manager was shown a picture from a state Department of Motor Vehicles query of Wright, which the manager confirmed as being Wright.
The two others nabbed at the Philadelphia Airport were Tasheen Jabeen of Sliver Spring, Md., wanted for failure to appear on a felony theft charge, and Demetrice Renee Key, 44, of Philadelphia, wanted for a probation violation on a shoplifting charge.
Susan Stranieri, Customs and Border Protection port director for the Port of Philadelphia said, “CBP remains ever vigilant in intercepting those travelers that our laws identify as needing further scrutiny.”
