United Way preps for annual event
WAYNESBURG – Greene County United Way will be celebrating its 25th WANB Radio Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday on the sidewalk in front of the United Way office at 748 E. High St. in Waynesburg.
The event is hosted by WANB Radio and serves as the official kickoff to Greene County United Way’s annual campaign.
Join Doug Wilson on Radio FM-105.1 as DJ’s from local businesses and partner agencies show their support of United Way as they compete for the desirable “Most Popular DJ” title.
Last year’s Most Popular DJ title went to Sister Audrey Quinn from the Salvation Army.
Area business DJ’s teamed up with United Way Partner Agencies are: Southwest Regional Medical Center with American Red Cross, 9 a.m.; First Federal Savings and Loan with Catholic Charities, 10 a.m.; Alpha Natural Resources with Salvation Army, 11 a.m.; Community Bank with Girl Scouts, noon; Waynesburg University with Eva K. Bowlby Library, 1 p.m.; and Rotary Club of Waynesburg with Domestic Violence Services, 2 p.m.
WANB listeners can call the United Way office at 724-852-1009 and cast their vote by pledging one dollar per vote for their favorite DJ. At the end of the day, the business and agency with the most votes wins the traveling plaque to hang in their place of business.
