South Strabane Township police charged six men Monday with providing false information while recently applying for gun purchase permits.

Sheldon R. Moss, 62, of 820 Sugar Run Road, Eighty Four; William C. McCracken, 62, of 364 Kinder Road, Scenery Hill, and John Mitchell Lane, 53, of 1882 Route 980, Canonsburg, are accused of providing the false information while attempting to purchase guns at Field & Stream, Old Mill Boulevard.

Patrick T. Drudy, 52 of Pittsburgh; Richard Westen, 34, of 2849 Main St., Beallsville, and Kenneth Lee Lampenfield, 21, of 248 Allen Ave., Donora, reportedly gave false information while trying to buy guns at Ace Sporting Goods, Washington Road,

Charges of providing false information on an application and unsworn falsification will be sent by summons to the six men from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
