Truck crash: James Prosser, 52, of Washington, will be cited for following another vehicle too closely after he crashed a tanker truck he was driving on Route 844 about 7:10 a.m. Thursday, state police said. Prosser escaped injury when he veered the truck into an embankment to avoid a rear-end collision with a vehicle slowing to make a turn, police said.
Theft from vehicle: A truck parked in the driveway of a residence on Georgetown Road, Lawrence, was entered Wednesday and a DVD player and a box of DVDs were stolen, police said.
Truck entered: A truck parked in a driveway on Mawhinney Road was entered before Nov. 28 and cigarettes and change were stolen, police said.
Driver hurt: A Canonsburg man was injured in a one-vehicle crash just after 2 a.m. Thursday on Golden Oaks Road in Jackson Township. State police said Robert E. Gibson, 44, was traveling south when his truck went off the road and hit trees. He was taken to Southwest Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was cited for careless driving.
Liquor violation: The operator of Pike Inn, 144 W. Pike St., was cited Wednesday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with furnishing liquor to a minor Oct. 23.
Theft cases: Joshua A. Cole, 34, of 203 Third Ave., Monongahela, is charged by city police with two counts each of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy and one count of burglary, court records show. He is accused of selling power tools stolen Sept. 10 from a residence in the 800 block of Fourth Street to a pawn shop for $800, police said. He also is accused of breaking into a vacant house in the 700 block of Grant Street shortly after midnight May 1 and stealing copper pipes valued at nearly $4,000, police said. He is in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Liquor law violation: CCR Pennsylvania Food Service Inc. of 210 Racetrack Road was cited Wednesday selling alcohol during prohibited hours Sept. 22, the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said.
Assault charge: Peters Township police Wednesday filed a simple assault charge against Linwood Eley II, 35, of South Hamilton Avenue, Greensburg, after a Nov. 17 incident in which he allegedly struck a co-worker at a Thompsonville Road site where the two were working, police said.
Burglary report: Southwest Regional police are investigating a Nov. 9 break-in at the First Energy’s closed Mitchell Power Station along Route 837 in Courtney. Six people entered the plant and caused an unspecified amount of damage. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance footage, police said.
Four charged with fighting: Four people face charges following an argument in an alley near 515 W. Chestnut St. late Wednesday night. City police said they were called to the area shortly after 9 p.m. and found April Garnett, Caitlyn Henderson, Jazzlyn Claude and Mason Smith fighting in the alley. Smith, 23, of 515 W. Chestnut St., faces charges of disorderly conduct and harassment; Garnett, 54, same address, was charged with disorderly conduct, and Henderson, 20, of Canonsburg, and Claude, 20, of Claysville, were charged with harassment.
