WAYNESBURG – A Waynesburg man was sentenced to the County Intermediate Punishment Program Wednesday following the receipt of a presentence investigation completed by the Greene County probation office.

Alan Carl Anderson, 64, of 117 Kirby Road, pleaded guilty in October to driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol incapable of safe driving and three summary traffic violations. Anderson was arrested by state police Feb. 19 in Franklin Township.

State police said Anderson was driving erratically in the area of the Disabled American Veterans building, crossing the fog line multiple times, speeding up and slowing down before they pulled him over. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt and officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.

His blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.173 percent.

Anderson will serve six months of CIPP, perform 25 hours of community service, and pay fines of $1,119 plus court costs and fees.
